Guest lecture by Dr. Naama Barak: A European Foreign Policy or a Foreign Policy for Europe? The European Community’s Policymaking on the Arab-Israeli Conflict, 1971–1980

On May 4, 2026, the European Forum at the Hebrew University and the Israeli Association for the Study of European Integration (IASEI) hosted a guest lecture at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem titled:

“A European Foreign Policy or a Foreign Policy for Europe?
The European Community’s Policymaking on the Arab-Israeli Conflict, 1971–1980”

The lecture was delivered by Dr. Naama Barak from the Leonard Davis Institute for International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and focused on the European Community’s policymaking on the Arab-Israeli conflict between 1971 and 1980.

The lecture was followed by responses from Prof. Gadi Heimann and Prof. Arie Kacowicz, both from the Department of International Relations.

The event brought together students and scholars for discussion.
