What is the main focus of the program? The European Studies program deals with a wide range of topics related to contemporary Europe and the European Union: Politics and Society, Economics, Law, etc.. It aims to acquire the students with wide and deep academic and practical knowledge and understanding of Europe and the European Union. The significance of the program originates in the importance of Europe and the growing interest in issues related to the EU and its role in the world. Some of the courses deal with EU/Europe – Israel/ Mediterranean/ Middle East relations.
What is the uniqueness of this program? The MA program in European Studies is an inter- and multi-disciplinary program; taught by excellent lecturers; allows to write a thesis and continue to PhD; offers an internship (practicum) course in working places which deals with the EU and Europe. We endow excellence and tuition scholarships. We believe that researching Europe means to be exposed as much as possible to the culture, languages and people. For that reason, we offer various study trips to the EU institutions in Brussel, Germany, Austria, and as well as scholarships for intensive language courses abroad.
Our cooperation with leading European institutions encourages and supports students to strive for academic and professional excellence, and allows several of our students to spend a semester learning abroad.

Research track (writing MA thesis): 38 credit points;
Non-research track: 42 credit points

What can you do with a degree from this program? We combine theories with practice and offer our MA students internships related to their field of studies. This has already proved for many of our students as an excellent starting point for a professional career in the field. Our students work in Israel and Europe, in different governmental ministries and agencies, hold academic positions in Israel and the world, work in leading research institutes, NGOs, and the private sector.
