Dr. Roby Nathanson
Dr. Nathanson has since been active in preparing programs aimed at socio-economic structural reform, especially in the areas of industrial relations, health, pensions and regional development. He has taken part in negotiations on the future of the Israeli economy within the framework of strategic planning teams and think tanks such as the National Council for Economic Planning and the Forum for Strategic Planning in cooperation with the Israel Association of Industrialists. Dr. Nathanson is also member of the board of directors of various public institutions involved in energy, communications and health.
In 1989, Dr. Nathanson was appointed Director of the Histadrut's Institute for Economic and Social Research. Under his guidance, the Institute published a long list of studies on economic, social, and foreign policy issues.
Dr. Nathanson was chosen to head Israel's Office for Economic and Social Planning during Peace at the Prime Minister's Office of the in 1995. That same year, he founded the Israeli Institute for Economic and Social Research, and after 11 years of research the Macro Center for Political Economics was established, where he continues to serve as the Director General.
In the framework of his academic teaching activities, Dr. Nathanson has lectured at the Eitan Berglas School of Economics, Tel-Aviv University. He currently lectures at the Department of Economics, the Academic College of Tel-Aviv-Yafo. In Addition, Dr. Nathanson serves as a senior advisor at the Open University.
