Prof. Alfred Tovias
Professor Emeritus of the Department of International Relations of the Hebrew University. Former Chairman of the same Department from 2010 through 2012. Former Director of the Leonard Davis Institute for International Relations at the same University (2005-2010). Holds also the EU-sponsored Jean Monnet Chair on External Economic Relations of the EU. Recently functioning as Visiting Professor at the IESE and at the IBEI, both based in Barcelona(Spain).
Dr. Maya Sion Tzidkiyahu
Adjunct professor at the European Studies graduate program of the European Forum at the Hebrew University.
Maya Sion-Tzidkiyahu specializes in the European integration process from multi-disciplinary perspectives: historical, theoretical, political, institutional, decision- and policy-making, economic and legal perspectives, as well as EU - Israeli relations.
She has a PhD in European Studies and Political Science (Comparative Politics) in the field of differentiated integration, comparing all case studies of Member States with a formal or informal opt-outs from different European integration policy fields (e.g., EMU, Schengen). She holds a BA in International Relations and MA in Public Policy, Administration and Law.
Maya won the European Commission Jean Monnet Module competitive grant, was a Junior Research Fellow at the Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen, Vienna and a Research Fellow at the Institute for Policy and Strategy, the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya. In addition, she was a visiting doctoral student at the Vrije University Brussels and a post-doctoral fellow at the European Forum.
She is currently also an adjunct professor at the Political Science Department, the International Relation Department and the Public Policy School at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and in the European Studies program at Tel Aviv University.
